International intellectual competitions are the best opportunity to prove yourself and gain experience for the future.

On September 3-4, 2021, a major International Olympiad in mental arithmetic WAMAS-2021 was held in the Emirate of Dubai. The organizer of the Olympiad was the World Association of Schools of Mental Arithmetic WAMAS.

The annual Olympiads held by the WAMAS Association are the main motivator for children, and also stimulates the development of schools and centers for mental arithmetic.

The WAMAS-2021 Olympics gathered 250 participants in one hall. Due to the current epidemiological situation in the world, the Olympiad was held in 2 streams, the participants were divided into 2 groups to ensure a safe distance between them. During the Olympiad, the participants counted on the abacus (soroban) and mentally more than several thousand problems of different difficulty levels.

Based on the feedback from guests and participants, the International Olympics WAMAS-2021 was held at a high level.
The venue for the WAMAS-2021 Olympiad is the five-star Habtoor Grand Resort in Dubai (UAE).

This year, various schools of mental arithmetic from 12 countries took part in the Olympiad.

As we have already noted, 12 countries, which represented 32 schools, met in the intellectual arena. One of the largest was a group from the UAE, represented by 3 schools.
The largest number of participants at the Olympiad came from Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan, 32, 53 and 35 participants, respectively.
International Olympiads are one of the ways to develop and popularize mental arithmetic all over the world. As we all already know, teaching mental arithmetic helps the harmonious development of the child, increases academic performance in school and, in general, has a positive effect on the intellectual development of children.
The WAMAS Olympiads are not just a competition for victory, but an opportunity for children to increase their knowledge and gain international experience, and for parents to see the results of their efforts. In addition, by participating in the Olympiad, you can combine business with pleasure. Thanks to the choice of world famous or tourist cities as the venue for the Olympiad.
